The best way to measure visitor engagement
It is good practice to measure everything you can to make well informed decisions. We often talk about setting up goals and conversions. But audience engagement? Yes, we do talk about it. But how do you measure it? Number of clicks on a page? Low bounce rate? Is this enough? What about implementing how far the visitor has scrolled down the page? Will it matter?
If we have a well-documented article and need to measure how many visitors went through the complete article and how many just ignored the article without even scrolling, then we should find a way to measure the visitor engagement for the article. If we can measure how far the visitor has scrolled through, then we have a better understanding about the quality of the article and how popular it is.
To be able to successfully understand visitor engagement, we need to measure the scroll depth.
